Earthquake and Tsunami

As everybody knows now, Japan was hit by huge earthquake yesterday. Magnitude level of this earthquake was 8.8, this is the highest record...
After that very big tsunami was coming from Pacific Ocean. The damage of north-east part of Japan have been huge, more than huge. Tsunami was over 10m high, and came again and again.
Some village disappeared. Many cars, houses and ... even people were washed away.
I heard today's news, and it said that 80% of Rikuzen-Takada city was covered by water. 80%!!

Biggest city of this area is Sendai. Sendai is my university city, and I lived in this city for 6 years.
This city and around this city had also huge damage by tsunami. Tsunami came to several km from the ocean, and washed large area. After tsunami went back to the ocean, there were 200 - 300 dead people found...
Sendai airport was also hit by tsunami, and covered by water and mud...

Also in Tokyo, the biggest city in the world, several people was died.
Cell phone lines were very busy, and it was very tough to call family and friends.
In this situation twitter was working as very useful tool. People could contact on twitter, and got any news.
All trains and subways stopped operation. Subways started their operation one by one last night, and JR train started this morning.
Millions of workers in Tokyo can't go back home by trains. They walked several hours to home, or many couldn't go home.

As time has passed, the number of people died has getting bigger and bigger. It is very scary.
Several hundred were died, and also more than several hundreds of people are not found.

Please see this article (The Big Picture 「Massive earthquake hits Japan」). It will lose your words. However please know the fact. I think it is knowing the fact is one of the most important thing.

However, even in this earthquake and tsunami, people is moving without losing temper. People were not in panic. People were looking for what they can do, and move quickly.
People are helping each other!!
We Japanese can proud of us, and Japan.
We can recover from this disaster soon!

The world: Thank you very much for your praying for Japan (#prayforjapan)!!

Hoping things will go well.
